Not enough water . My tomato plant in a pot needs water every day . I don’t use tap water I use rainwater or when that runs out I will fill a barrel with tap water and let it sit for a couple of days to let the chlorine evaporate out of the water . I fertilize once a week with miracle grow and fish poop fertilizer.

Are you feeding them?  Tomatoes, especially pot grown need to lot of feeding.  Use a liquid feed.  This will also help maximise yield.

Once the lower trusses have set, yellowing of the lower leaves is quite common.  Cut them off up to the lowest truss - the plant doesn't need them.

Are there little brown spots on the leaves as well as the yellowing?  This is caused by wilt which is a type of fungus disease.  There's not much you can do about it once it happens, but you can still eat the tomatoes.
