Why were/are boys taught to not cry or express emotion? ?

It all depends on their own father's reactions and the reaction of others when a boy cries. It is important to be able to express one's emotions. Anger is a difficult one to express, but as long as there is no harm to others, there should be room for its expression.

Because of the lie that says crying is unmanly and a sign of weakness. The opposite is true. Real men cry. Crying is sign of strength.

who came up with that theory?
