Yes. Jesus Christ founded one Church, said it was to remain one, and promised that one Church the fullness of God's truth until the end of time. Because of that divine guarantee of truth, the teaching of that one Church (which includes well over half of all Christians) never conflicts with natural truths revealed by science. Truth cannot conflict with truth. The only ones who have a problem with scientific facts like the age of the Earth are some of the thousands of conflicting manmade denominations of Protestantism. The teaching of each denomination conflicts with the teaching of the others, and truth cannot conflict with truth, so obviously a great deal of untruth is being taught in such churches. Therefore it is no surprise that some of these untrue teachings also conflict with scientific facts.

yes we know it took billions of years to make this planet habitable.  But when walking down the aile at the planetarium in San Francisco.  It takes a very long time to see how the Universe appeared and was made habitable.  But when your tour is almost over, almost to the door to go out is humans.  They were created after everything else came into existance about 7000 years ago.  But Adam and Eve were not the humans God wanted for his new planet.  So he waited all this time to get enough righteous people to fill the planet.  Then they will live forever on it.  www.jw.org

Dinosaurs and humans did not exist together. So, that pretty much clinches the argument.

There is actual a split among a good amount of Christians. Some believe the world started with Adam, and Adam was approximately 6,000 years ago, so the world must be around that old.

Others believe that the first chapter of Genesis outlines that at the time of this current age of earth, the earth was already under a flood and the count from Adam on is of the new creation on earth. Meaning an entire existence happened before the flood before Adam. This is taken from the fact that

the first sentence can be read as follow:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.

That's a period and full stop. God created everything in the beginning. And when ever the beginning time is not defined, it could have been 6 thousand ears ago, 6 million years ago, 6 billion or 6 trillion etc.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Which can be read as; Now as in after that period of initial creation by God at whatever time it did happen. Now as in the point of the Story given to us, the world was currently completely flooded and none of the earth extended out of the waters.

So people can read it either way. Personally I understand it as God did do creation prior to man. There is all of the Angelic portions of creation that seem to have a time before us. I have always understood it as we are not provided the full picture of everything that happened and is happening outside of our world view.

Personally I don't know if the universe is 14 billion years or 14 trillion, it does seem that number keeps changing, Maybe its 500 trillion eons old.

I don't know, but, this is not the baseline of Christianity either way, so its not often debated internally. The base line is God wants to have a relationship with you now regardless of the past, and you are separated through your Sin (rebellion from him), and that God gave a way to know Him and come back to him and that is through his Son Jesus, that through the death of Christ, your sin was also put to death and paid for if you give it up for him, and that by believing and trusting in his Salvation through his payment on the Cross, that you have been redeemed back to God and will be made anew in Christ at the end of this world and will be brought back to him in the Fullness of Life with Him after this.

As a matter of fact, most Christians don't even think of or care about it.

No.  There are those that calculate the age of the earth, according to the bible. Some 8 000 years?!?!

    Peace.
