Did you know that Earth is the third planet in the Solar System?

The third planet from the sun, that is. That big, bright yellow thing in the sky, in case you don't know that either. Yes, I am the trivia king.

Why not apply for a research grant?

Staying the bl**ding obvious is all the rage right now.

Yes.  Have you any more stupid questions on the blindingly obvious?

Yeah, but, we’re *first* in the number of lakes on the surface...

That's because you insist on using "distance from the Sun" for ranking. Many ranking systems use chronology (first man on the Moon, first heavier-than-air flight, first woman to jump Niagara Falls in a barrel, etc.)

In that case, the ranking of the planets goes like this:

Sun, Moon (yes, they were considered planets 2500 years ago), Venus (and Lucifer, its morning name), Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. This makes Earth (accepted as a planet at the beginning of the 18th century) number 8.

Ah! Trivia! The gathering of information that affects so little of real life...

At first I thought you meant like a 3rd world country among the planets
