How prestigious is Duke University- and Duke Law School in particular?

Compared to, say, Ivy League schools, MIT, Stanford, etc.?

Duke Law is very prestigious, probably the #1 law school in the Southeast.

What do you really want to know?  How it is rated or how top law firms view hiring students from that law program?

Yale, Stanford, and Harvard are ranked 1,2, and 3. Duke is #12. Graduating from any of the top 20 will put you in a strong position to be hired by top firms.  There are other, larger schools with better rated law schools including University of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, UC Berkeley, and University of Michigan.

There are a lot of successful lawyers who graduated from much less prestigious law programs too.

FYI, MIT doesn't have a law school and Stanford isn't in the Ivy League.

It is highly ranked (even above some of the Ivies) and is very prestigious.

It's ranked among the top universities in the world.

"Duke Law is tied for #1 in terms of the median starting salary among graduates working in private practice as law firm associates ($180,000)."
