I thought I was sold rats but now I’m wondering if they are mice bc of the dark hairy tail. What do u think? They are 6 weeks old.?

They are rats. Baby rats may have a more hairy tail when young. They will lose it when they get older.

Yep, those are rats. 6 week old mice are not much bigger than a peanut.

Those look like young rats to me

Mice are smaller, lighter weight. Those are probably young rats. Here is a pic of a mouse. You can easily hold a mouse in your hand and its tiny little feet feel "small" in your hand.

Looks like rats to me. Rats have a rounder face. Mice have a slender muzzle. Mice have round ears. Rats have oval ears. The size should be a dead giveaway. A rat at 6 weeks is much bigger than a mouse at 6 weeks. A mouse is considered full grown at about 3 weeks. A mouse is about 2-3 inches. A rat is at least twice that size. A full grown rat is about 8 inches without counting the tail.
