It's not clear that Mary of Magdala was a prostitute - this may be a matter of confusing a number of different biblical characters.

As far as the Last Supper goes, the figure sometimes said to be Mary is usually identified as St. John. He looks feminine by our standards, but in the Renaissance it was common to portray young men with long hair and soft features.

Who was at the last supper is argued by scripture scholars. Only the twelve or they and more disciples is the debate.

Painting were controlled by the artist and do not represent dogma, they are an artistic portrayal of an event.

Scholars also question whether Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. We know from archaeology and cultural studies that women who were not prostitutes had wealth.

The claim of Mary Magdalene being a spouse of lover of Jesus is dismissed by almost all scripture scholars; it is not a new idea and was made popular just recently by a novel and a movie based on it.

There are apocryphal gospels that are used by amateurs to show the closeness of Mary Magdalene and Jesus, but most people reject it. You can find the reasons by looking up debunking of those who take Dan Brown's fiction as veiled non-fiction

She had to be somebodies wife so obviously she was one of several as was the custom with these people. It's the same now. According to the babble she was there when he was executed for his crimes.

According to Dan Brown's famous work of fiction she is. However, I have never seen anything to indicate that she was anything other than one of Jesus disciples who is of note because she is female.

No, it's not written that she was his wife, so assuming she's not.

Shes in the painting cause the guy who drew it put her there.

Nowhere in the Bible does it even infer she was a prostitute.
