    De acuerdo con la lista roja de la IUCN "Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza" (organismo encargado de de mantener la integridad de la naturaleza y asegurar el uso equitativo y ecológicamente sostenible de los recursos naturales) las spp. en peligro de extinción ("endangered" o "critically endangered") o vulnerables son:

    La lista que te paso pertenece a las especies de la familia Accipitridae (que incluye a los gavilanes, águilas y buitres) la denominación "águilas" incluye varios géneros, sin embargo todos estan incluidos en esta familia (Accipitridae).

    Por otra parte CITES "Convención sobre el comercio internacional de especies amenazadas de flora y fauna silvestres" (organismo encargado de regular el comercio de especies amenazadas entre los países del mundo) incluye en su Apendice I (apéndice que contiene a las especies en peligro de extinción, y de las que prohíbe cualquier tipo de comercio) a las siguientes especies de la familia Accipitridae:

    Aquila adalberti

    Aquila heliaca

    Chondrohierax uncinatus wilsonii

    Haliaeetus albicilla

    Harpia harpyja

    Pithecophaga jefferyi
